Supply Chain Leadership

Supply Chain Leadership

Thanks to its strategic location between the Asian, European and US time zones, Switzerlandโ€™s excellent transport and communication infrastructure and its solutions for managing revenues and risks have made it a leading destination for multinational companies looking to set up supply chain operations.

Switzerland currently holds third place in the world for countries with the best supply chain resilience. Artificial intelligence. Digitalisation. Transparency. Supply chain management is being rapidly disrupted by technological and social changes. Companies are under increasing demand to respond to the pressure of whatโ€™s become known as the โ€˜Amazon Effectโ€™ โ€“ where the goliath is raising expectations of how quickly products can be delivered and how cheaply.

As recently as 2017, a typical supply chain accessed 50 times more data than five years earlier. Yet, less than a quarter of this data is being analysed. Supply chain leaders of the future will focus on harnessing the power of this data to understand and predict how external factors affect supply chains in real time โ€“ from labour shortages and adverse weather conditions to political unrest and spikes in demand โ€“ to maximise operational efficiency and gain a competitive advantage.

Effective supply chain management is becoming increasingly important to reduce the risks associated with off-shoring, outsourcing, inter-dependencies within supply chains and product versatility. Forward-thinking companies are therefore focusing on measures to improve the resilience of their supply chain to mitigate potential risks.

CSCMP, a preeminent worldwide professional association dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of research and knowledge on supply chain management, and CIPS, a global professional body with an objective of leading excellence in procurement and supply chain, actively engage their members and associated professionals throughout Switzerland, providing information on membership, conferences and other educational opportunities and case studies.

Our consultants are specialists in their markets, recruiting top talent for the supply chain jobs market throughout Switzerland and Europe.
