Position Overview
The Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer will lead continuous improvement processes, provide technical support including process studies, problem-solving, and process optimization, and oversee the implementation, sustainability, and improvement of the Performance System at the unit level.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as an organizational transformation agent for the Performance System implementation.
- Lead the implementation and sustainment of the CI/Performance System management tools, such as dashboards and OEE measurement.
- Deliver management system training to facilitate CI/Performance System adoption and cultural change.
- Establish and support baseline KPIs and assist unit leadership in setting regional, financial, and functional targets.
- Develop and manage improvement plans through gap analysis to recommend and implement process improvements.
- Drive and support cost reduction, productivity enhancement, and safety/quality improvement initiatives.
- Suggest improvements to the management system based on implementation experience.
- Support plant teams in achieving sustainability goals using CI tools.
- Participate in regional and local meetings to identify best practices for plant success.
- Evaluate new technologies and concepts to improve process efficiency, facility safety, and product quality.
- Facilitate Kaizen events, ideation workshops, RCA studies, and other CI activities.
- Leverage analytical and problem-solving skills to identify key success drivers and execute improvement objectives.
- Act as a change agent to foster a culture of continuous improvement and performance focus.
- Collaborate with plant leaders to disseminate CI methodologies and drive cultural change.
- Train employees in CI and Performance System concepts.
- Coach and mentor plant teams to ensure successful implementation of CI activities.
- Support the development of skill matrices as part of the management system.
Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Proven change management and influencing skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience in Process/Industrial Engineering.
- Training in Lean Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing Practices, and SPC (Green Belt).
- Knowledge of engineering and unit operations, including chemistry, heat and mass balances, mechanics, physical/chemical separation, and energy management.
- Strong knowledge of digital systems such as OEE, integrated action tracking, and KPI reporting.
Desirable:
- Experience implementing lean management systems.
- Black Belt certification (desired but not required).
- 3-5 years of continuous improvement experience.
- Experience with OEE implementation, electronic paperwork, or other digital process improvement solutions.
