A globally renowned supplier of semiconductor manufacturing and assembly equipment is seeking a motivated and highly qualified individual to join their dedicated team in Austria. As a Project Buyer, you'll be at the forefront of cutting-edge technology and innovation used for exciting new projects.
This position requires a working knowledge of German and English (B2).
Responsibilities:
- Define supply chain strategies within projects, collaborating closely with our Engineering, Planning, and Commodity Management teams.
- Organise materials for prototypes with an emphasis on rapid delivery, while engaging suppliers in Europe and Asia.
- Launch Purchase Orders (PO) in SAP, including date and cost control.
- Execute the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, incorporating benchmarking and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles. Negotiate prices based on transparent cost calculations and lead-time analysis.
- Initiate Quantity Contracts (QC), particularly for Long Lead Items (LLI), by initiating Pre-Sourcing Requests.
- Organise the transition of new products to Operational Purchasing in Asia, covering Malaysia and China.
Your profile:
- Technical or commercial education, an apprenticeship, or an HTL degree. A finished study program is a plus.
- Approximately 3-5 years of progressive experience in a similar role within an international environment.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office, along with a deep understanding of purchasing processes.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and technology trends.
- Proficiency in verbal and written German and English.
- A willingness to travel, primarily focusing on Europe.
- A communicative and customer-oriented personality, skilled in negotiation and collaboration.
- Strong commitment to driving success and making a significant impact.
