Title: Operations Manager
Location: Greater Hagerstown, MD
A global industry leader within Building Materials is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their manufacturing leadership team.
This Manager will be accountable for managing and driving process improvement, safety, quality, and employee development.
The Operations Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing plans to meet or exceed the plant's yearly business objectives and goals related to productivity, quality, and delivery.
- Leading teams while promoting a positive work environment to achieve business goals, developing and training to ensure success and future employee development.
- Managing the flow of communication between day and night shift to all organizational levels to ensure all goals and expectations are known by everyone.
- Having an active role in the plant safety program, conducting audits and ensuring supervisors are monitoring personally; evaluating work areas for safety best practices and enhancing procedures.
- Identifying and implementing projects to drive process improvement through the plant.
- Managing key operating expenses and developing cost control plans to drive innovation and capital improvements.
- Ensuring a high level of focus for adhering to quality goals and reviewing/modifying procedures.
The ideal Operations Manager should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree Required, MBA Preferred
- 5+ years of progressive leadership or management experience in manufacturing
- Problem analysis and critical thinking abilities, and strong planning/organizational skills
- Outstanding collaboration and conflict management abilities
- Strong commitment to customer service
- Focus on driving improvements within the organization and ability to persuade and influence others
- Ability to coach and develop other to achieve goals
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, decision-making, adapting, and meeting deadlines
- Ability to travel to other locations as needed
