DSJ Global is proud to present an exciting opportunity with a large global chemicals group for a Senior Manager with export control expertise from legal perspective. Our client, a leading high-tech polymer and specialty chemicals manufacturer in North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany is seeking an experienced individual to join their team as the Head of Export Control Governance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for effective export controls
- Ensure compliance with national and international regulations related to exports
- Manage the company's global export control
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Legal, Compliance, Finance, IT & Logistics.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
1. Expertise in Export Control: The ideal candidate should have experience working on various aspects like sanctions screening programs or EAR/ITAR classification requirements along with knowledge about EU-export restrictions which includes dual-use goods under CCCN codes. Expertise in global export law is required.
2. SAP GTS Experience : Candidates who have worked extensively on configuring, implementing SAP Global Trade Services (GTS), would be preferred.
3. Excellent Communication skills:- Ability communicate effectively at all levels within organisation especially when engaging senior stakeholders
4. Legal Background :- A background/certification/experience within Law will help you understand how different laws apply while dealing internationally .
5. Logistics management - In-depth understanding regarding transportation modes available globally via air/ocean/truck/railway freight forwarding companies would be desirable but not a requirement.
