Job Overview: My client are seeking an experienced Global Commodity Manager to join the team in Germany. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the sourcing and procurement of key commodities across the global supply chain. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure that our procurement strategies align with our business objectives and meet our quality and sustainability standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute global commodity sourcing strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Monitor and analyze commodity markets to identify trends and risks, and adjust procurement strategies accordingly
- Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts and pricing to ensure optimal value for the company
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements, and develop sourcing plans that support those needs
- Work closely with suppliers to improve quality, sustainability, and delivery performance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain, including cost optimization and process improvements
- Manage relationships with key suppliers and build long-term partnerships that align with the company's values and objectives
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements related to procurement and supply chain management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in global commodity management, procurement, or supply chain management
- Strong analytical skills and experience with market analysis and forecasting
- Experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and geographies
- Familiarity with sustainability and corporate social responsibility practices in procurement and supply chain management
- Fluency in English and German, with additional languages a plus
