Job Summary:
A top tier quality foods manufacturer and marketer of quality foods is looking for a Food Safety and Quality Supervisor to make an immediate impact and embrace company culture. The individual chosen to take on the position will be trained and molded to become a Quality Manager a few years after being acclimated into the company.
As a leader of the plant, The Food Safety and Quality Supervisor will have the opportunity to work in a growing segment of a major food manufacturer and showcase their leadership abilities as well as technical skills to make a large impact on the profitable growth of the company. The supervisor will have a direct impact on safety procedures and practices of the plant while being a primary piece in the training of new employees. They will be reporting directly to the current FSQ manager for maintenance as well as internal and customer product audits. In addition, the Food Safety and Quality Supervisor will be responsible for training the new hires in HACCP GMP's and any other regulations following company protocol.
The ideal Food Safety and Quality Supervisor will have the following skillset:
- The desire to make a meaningful difference. Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently while able to work closely with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of hands on experience
- 3+ years Food Safety/ Quality experience in an FDA or USDA regulated manufacturing facility
- HACCP Certification
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information
- Proven leadership experience
- Experience in food or beverage manufacturing preferred
Food Safety and Quality Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Assure compliance to all areas of manufacturing
- Monitor Manufacturing activities to ensure accordance with Quality standards
- Conduct audits to proactively find potential quality issues and provide guidance to avoid future issues
- Supervise testing procedure of analysis methods and are accurately followed
- Assist in new product development as well as assist in assuring the new product specifications meet expectations of customer and marketing groups
- Collaborate with plant stakeholders on production schedules
- Coordinate with management in areas of safety and discipline as described by company policy in compliance with local and federal regulations
- Guide training for all employees in areas of HACCP GMP's as well as other regulations
- Conduct preoperative sanitation inspections - ensure proper follow up if unsanitary conditions exist
