The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent experience) who has experience with designing, integrating, supporting, testing, and certifying interior furnishings and seat systems for general aviation aircrafts.
Responsibilities
- Design detail part, assemblies, and installations of interiors, seating using PTC Creo to apply reduced dimensions and GD&T to drawings where appropriate
- Provide technical expertise and lead small integrated teams to design and test aircraft interior products
- Support the development of design requirements, processes, project plans, and activities required to design and certify aircraft interiors
- Coordinate and conduct testing to prove aircraft interiors are in compliance with company and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with interior suppliers to assist with project completion from start to finish
- Familiarity with FAA Part 23 regulations and flammability, seat dynamic testing, and FAA certification is ideal
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (with at least 10+ years of experience in progressive engineering)
- Knowledge of aircraft or automotive interior materials and manufacturing with familiarity and experience in ergonomics (human factors) is desired
- Knowledge of design to cost, design for manufacturing and assembly, or design for maintainability
- Knowledge of CAD, PDM/PLM, and collaboration tools as well as experience with PTC Creo, PTC Windchill PDM, and Atlassian JIRA tools is a plus
- Knowledge of Class A Surfacing
