A leading innovator in the automotive industry is looking to add an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Product Development team focusing on Vehicle Dynamics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management, automotive engineering, specifically in the design and development of chassis systems and components. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive innovation, manage cross-functional teams, and deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers responsible for the development of new chassis components, including suspension systems, steering components, brakes, and related subsystems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Product Management to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies to improve product performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive innovation in chassis component design and manufacturing processes, leveraging new technologies and materials to enhance product performance and meet regulatory requirements.
- Manage the full product development lifecycle from concept to production, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and performance evaluations to identify and mitigate potential issues early in the development process.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in automotive engineering with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and CAE tools for structural analysis.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
