Engineering Manager needed for Aerospace Company!
An Expanding Aerospace Company is looking to add a Engineering Manager to their growing team of passionate, talented individuals!
The Engineering Manager will oversee and direct the engineering department focused on new product development and R&D - from concept through design and into pre-production and manufacturing planning. This individual will have multisite leadership responsibilities, and therefore will need to be open to traveling for this position!
The Engineering Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Lead advanced composites engineering team through R&D and prototype development, through pre-manufacturing and documentation.
- Manage outside engineering consultants and contractors.
- Lead NPI and supply technical opinion/advise on bid and proposal processes.
- Serve as lead for corrective action team - working cross functionally with manufacturing and quality teams.
- Set and oversee Engineering Budget.
- Advise in annual budgeting processes and strategic planning.
- Technical lead for manufacturing team based in Mexico.
- Support vendor selection and development.
- Mentor junior staff and coach on strategic problem solving.
The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, or similar field.
- 7+ years of industry experience, 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Experience with physical/mechanical testing and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of composite materials and adhesives for aerospace applications.
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards.
- Ability to lead and coach a team of junior engineers and technicians.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to speak, write, and read Spanish is preferred.
