Company Summary:
A food manufacturer is looking to hire a new Environmental, Health, & Safety Manager. This individual will manage several direct reports and become an integral member of the leadership team for one of their largest plants across the company.
The EHSS Manager will be responsible for:
- Supervise the creation, execution, and assessment of initiatives designed to mitigate risks and curtail losses related to employee safety, industrial hygiene, fire protection, property damage, environmental considerations, occupational health, and security.
- Direct and synchronize safety, industrial hygiene, security, environmental, and occupational health programs at the plant, ensuring alignment with Division, Corporate, and legal guidelines.
- Assure the plant's adherence to Corporate, Federal, State, and local Environmental, Health, and Safety laws and regulations.
- Engage proactively with regulatory agencies, cultivating and sustaining cooperative relationships.
- Provide leadership and counsel to management, as well as professional, technical, and support staff concerning EHS&S matters.
- Establish and uphold a secure and healthful work environment for all plant employees, with a focus on shielding the surrounding community and environment from hazardous exposures.
- Deliver timely and top-tier training sessions on EHS&S topics to employees across all levels.
- Execute audits of the plant's EHS&S programs to pinpoint areas for enhancement, ensuring swift resolution of any identified deficiencies.
- Confirm the acceptability of new equipment, processes, acquisitions, procedures, materials, and chemicals in accordance with EHS&S standards.
- Coordinate Emergency Response activities for the site.
- Ensure comprehensive plant wide compliance with all relevant EHS&S laws and regulations, placing a premium on the security of the facility.
- Interface effectively with regulatory agencies, Division and Corporate personnel, and all tiers of plant employees to foster transparent communication and collaboration.
The EHS Manager should have the following qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience in the industry and/or exposure in field of business
- Knowledge of all EHS protocols and necessary government regulations
- Prior leadership and management experience
- Bachelor's Degree required; preferably in a related field
