DSJ Global is partnered with a leading Heavy Equipment Manufacturer out of the Troutman, NC area. They are looking to bring on a new Design Engineer that is responsible for developing and maintaining engineered designs for assigned products, systems, or components to ensure competitiveness in terms of functionality, manufacturability, and market appeal.
Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- Create, modify, analyze, and upkeep engineering designs for assigned products, systems, and components.
- Stay informed about trends and advancements in product design, incorporating new techniques, materials, and procedures into assigned product designs.
- Collaborate with various departmental functions (service, production, tooling, marketing, dealers, etc.) in a team-oriented environment to successfully complete projects.
- Contribute to project planning by developing product specifications, estimating product costs, establishing project timelines, and identifying resource requirements
- Direct engineering testing and analyze results for both prototype and production machines.
- Provide design guidance to other product design personnel to ensure the successful completion of assigned tasks.
Design Engineer Requirements:
- Proficient in Creo Parametric and/or other computer engineering tools.
- Ability to communicate technical data and project information clearly in both verbal and written forms.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively collaborate in teams.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering.
- Experience: 0-10 years (Level DOE).
- Travel: Less than 10%.
Preferred Experience:
- Relevant product development experience with compressors or generators.
- Relevant product development experience in construction, agriculture, forestry, or utility equipment.
- Design and fabrication of components from light and heavy gauge steel
- Selection of isolation mount hardware
- Selection of axles, wheels, and tires for trailers.
- Familiarity with DOT and other regulatory requirements for trailers.
- Knowledge of diesel engines and exhaust system components.
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing.
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis.
