We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Demand Planner to join our client's team in The Hague. The Demand Planner will play a key role in forecasting customer demand, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring timely production to meet customer requirements. Key Responsibilities:
Demand Forecasting:
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to gather input and develop accurate demand forecasts for various product lines and customer segments.
- Utilize historical sales data, market trends, and customer insights to generate demand forecasts at different levels of granularity (e.g., SKU, region, customer).
- Monitor forecast accuracy and adjust forecasting models as needed to improve accuracy over time.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance customer demand, production capacity, and cost considerations.
- Analyze inventory levels and replenishment lead times to identify potential shortages or excesses and take proactive measures to address them.
- Develop and implement inventory strategies, such as safety stock levels and replenishment policies, to minimize stockouts while optimizing inventory turns.
Production Planning:
- Work closely with production planning teams to translate demand forecasts into production plans, ensuring alignment with production capacity and lead times.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components to support production schedules.
- Monitor production progress and address any issues or bottlenecks that may impact delivery schedules.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, production, and procurement, to align demand forecasts with business objectives and operational plans.
- Communicate forecasted demand and inventory requirements to relevant stakeholders and provide regular updates on demand trends, risks, and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, inventory management, or supply chain planning, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in demand planning software and tools, such as SAP IBP, Oracle Demantra, or similar systems.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to analyze data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English; Dutch language proficiency is a plus.
