A global leader in the packaging industry is hiring for their world-leading procurement function in Germany. Specialising in sustainable packaging solutions across various sectors, my client are known for their commitment to environmental responsibility, investing heavily in research and development to lead the way in sustainable packaging technologies. This role is ideal for someone looking to step up into a category management position, ready to take on a higher level of responsibility whilst making a direct impact on the business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Defining and implementing the category strategy for adhesives and inks, working alongside the global category managers to find the best strategies for the region.
- Lead local negotiations and manage key supplier relationships. Identify, qualify and onboard new suppliers, ensuring quality, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
- Establish and enhance procurement processes, driving continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Manage cross-functional projects with R&D, manufacturing and sustainability teams.
Requirements:
- Multiple years' experience in a professional procurement environment, specifically purchasing raw materials. Experience in the packaging industry is extremely beneficial for this position, but not essential.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively and drive innovation.
- Strong communication skills, ability to work with all levels of the organization, including director level and c-suite. Professional fluency in English is required, German is beneficial but not essential.
