Are you passionate about driving continuous improvement in building materials manufacturing? This client is seeking an Automation and Controls Engineer to join the facility in the Greater Allentown, PA area. You will play a key role in enhancing processes and production methods to better serve their customers while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with production teams to address assembly and manufacturability issues.
- Utilize lean and six sigma methodologies to resolve manufacturing problems.
- Analyze current methods and processes to recommend improvements in areas such as work simplification, standardization, quality enhancement, and cost reduction.
- Ensure product and process quality by designing testing methods and confirming manufacturing processes.
- Train group managers and hourly associates on new manufacturing processes.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and time management tools.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation software like Studio5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, and similar platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for equipment and processes.
- Familiarity with industrial manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to apply critical engineering thinking to develop and implement manufacturing strategies.
- Capability to collaborate with outside suppliers and co-design component parts if necessary.
- Knowledge of manufacturing process improvement techniques like Continuous Improvements, Lean Six Sigma, etc.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
