Supply Chain Director - Biopharma

Our client, a leading pharmaceuticals firm specializing within the gene therapy/cell therapy sector is in the end stages of commercializing their first product to hit the market, and is looking for a Supply Chain Director to provide global scope over the supply chain and manufacturing functions, as well as build out the team in 2021.
The Supply Chain Director - Biopharma Industry is a newly created position within the business and is overseeing the clinical and commercial supply chain needs globally for the organization. The successful candidate will oversee: Warehouse Management, GMP Shipping/Receiving, Customer Service, Quality Assurance and Set up of ERP system. The ideal candidate also has experience in managing an E2E supply chain network or developing a network with an organization that has passed the pre-clinical stage, as well as comes from either the gene therapy or the cell therapy sector. Prior cell therapy experience with an organization at any stage of product development is highly preferred.
The Supply Chain Director - Biopharma Industry will:
- Assess, analyze and optimize warehouse capacity including ambient and temperature-controlled storage locations
- Translate clinical protocol information into demand forecasts and supply strategies
- Lead the identification and review of manufacturing performance issues associated with schedule adherence and supply service, assigning accountability for root cause analysis and problem-solving activities and ensuring improvement targets are met
- Manage the development, negotiation and implementation of contract agreements with suppliers and (where applicable) in collaboration with Global Procurement
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for all investigational and marketed products
- Contribute to end to end supply chain risk assessments and implement mitigation actions
The Supply Chain Director - Biopharma Industry has the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Supply Chain, or Engineering
- 10+ years of experience with supply chain in a biotech / pharmaceutical environment (required)
- Experience in E2E supply chain network management for clinical products within the biopharma space
- Experience in a start-up clinical supply chain environmental
- Pharma/biotech industry experience (required)
