A leading Food and Beverage organization is looking to add a Senior Purchasing Manager to their growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of high-quality ingredients, packaging materials, and other supplies. This role requires a deep understanding of supply chain management, vendor relations, and cost control to ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality ingredients and materials.
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with company standards and policies.
- Cost Control: Monitor market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks associated with price fluctuations.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize waste, and prevent shortages.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure all purchased goods meet the required standards and specifications.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance to senior management.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a senior management role within the food and beverage industry.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of successful vendor management and cost control.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
