We are seeking a skilled Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement, boost production efficiency, and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety with a leading firearms manufacturer. In this role, you will manage complex engineering projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement advanced manufacturing techniques and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and update tools and gage designs using 2D and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks).
- Develop CNC programs using CAM software, translating engineering drawings and CAD models into precise technical specifications.
- Optimize machining processes by selecting appropriate strategies, toolpaths, cutting parameters, and tooling.
- Create and refine tooling, fixtures, and work holding solutions for CNC machining operations.
- Design, implement, and streamline manufacturing processes for both machining and assembly operations.
- Maintain and develop process documentation, such as work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans.
- Perform time studies and workflow analyses to uncover opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction.

- Collaborate with Design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Conduct pilot runs and validate processes to ensure readiness for production handoff.
- Lead engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Stay current with advancements in manufacturing technologies, including CNC machining, robotics, automation, and additive manufacturing.
- Demonstrate a sound working knowledge of firearms safety.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary equipment and materials.
- Support the Manufacturing Manager in strategic planning and decision-making.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety improvements to minimize hazards.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
- Proven track record of leading successful engineering projects and process improvements.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, assembly techniques, and manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, HSM, Edgecam).
- Working knowledge of firearms production, tooling, and gauges.
- Proven knowledge of drafting standards and tolerances.
- Experience using inspection equipment and tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- General computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to follow all established environmental safety protocols required by OSHA, federal, state agencies, and the company.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members at all levels.
