Senior Category Manager

Our automotive industry client is looking for a new Senior Category Manager to manage a Facilities and Real Estate Portfolio with spend categories and business relations. This includes construction management to engineering to landscaping and janitorial services. The goal will be to establish a category management approach with strategies to drive cost savings and enhance value. This role will report to the Director of Procurement.
Overall, the ideal candidate will have construction procurement experience, ideally with an analytical mindset and a high degree of judgement with strategy formulation, working cross-functionally internally with stakeholders and externally with vendors for specific categories.
The Senior Category Manager will be responsible for:
- Develops, implements and maintains a 3 to 5-year strategic category plan in support of the business
- Interfaces with Construction and Facilities Management and Financial Management on Lease/Buy and BPO (business process outsourcing) considerations
- Executes against the annual procurement plan with baselines approved and deliverables ratified by Construction and Maintenance leadership
- Conducts negotiations (inclusive of RFx, auctions, etc.), manages supplier analysis, risk mitigation, and selection activities
The Senior Category Manager will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, preferably construction procurement
- Analytical and strategic thinker who is financially savvy with strong business acumen
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Ability to perform formula level math to solve narratives
