Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Mojave, CA
A leading name in the Chemicals industry is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to direct the activities of plant operations personnel in their 24/7 facility.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the maintaining production schedules, ensuring quality standards are met, making all assignments, assisting in hiring processes, training employees, and administer company policies.
The Production Supervisor will have the following responsibilities:
- Coordinate all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping activities of the area and meet production and quantity standards
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment
- Report any process and equipment problems; report to Maintenance on evenings and weekends for assistance
- Verify that plant discharges are within limits and assist with ensuring company quality standards in production are met
- Utilize fully integrated SAP system in all processes
- Train, upgrade, evaluate, and review chemical operators
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and directing production work
- Assist with ensuring company safety and environmental standards are met
- Assist with ensuring all established policies, rules and regulations, and procedures are followed
- Distribute plant status reports to the Plant Manager and/or Lead Operator
- Supervise loading and unloading of trucks and/or rail cars and verify that paperwork is signed
- Work to reduce costs through improving product quality and lower operating and supply costs
- Assist Plant Manager in coordination of capital projects
- Other duties as assigned
The ideal Production Supervisor MUST have the following qualifications:
- Associates or bachelor's degree in a related field with minimum of 3 years' experience in an industrial manufacturing operation with a working knowledge of plant process flows and operations OR a minimum of 8 years' experience in one or more plant functions: production, materials management, technical, engineering or maintenance
- The capability and desire to undertake continued education courses in a related field
- At least 2 years in a leadership and supervisory position in a manufacturing operation
- Strong knowledge of basic chemical reactions utilized in the manufacturing process
- Ability to plan and execute in a production environment
- Requires overall knowledge of chemical processing equipment, plant processes, environmental guidelines, and state, federal and local employment law
- Experience utilizing fully integrated business system, such as SAP or similar business system
