We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Packaging Buyer to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about sustainability, innovation, and driving cost-effective solutions for our packaging needs. The main area of focus will be cartons.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for packaging materials, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product development, marketing, and supply chain teams, to ensure packaging requirements are met on time and within budget.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with packaging suppliers, ensuring the best value and quality for the company.
- Continuously research and identify new packaging technologies and materials, promoting sustainability and innovation throughout the organization.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to agreed-upon terms.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, supplier performance, and industry benchmarks to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, legislation, and company policies related to packaging materials and sourcing.
- Prepare regular reports on packaging spend, savings, and supplier performance for senior management review.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a packaging procurement role, preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, and sustainability trends.
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings and process improvements through strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant procurement software.
