Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Global Lead Buyer for direct materials to join our dynamic procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of all direct materials required for our industrial machinery manufacturing operations. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of various industries, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work in a global environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the procurement process for all direct materials required for our industrial machinery manufacturing.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with production schedules and quality standards.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in English is required.
- At least B1/B2 proficiency in German is required.
- Demonstrated experience in direct procurement - across any industry
- Industry experience in metals, electronics, chemicals, plastics, die casting, industrial machinery, mining, oil, and gas is highly relevant for this position.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Willingness to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time).
