Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for indirect commodities, with a particular focus on Capex and MRO, transportation or other indirect categories.
- Establish and lead the Indirect Procurement function, defining processes, policies, and procedures from scratch within the chemical industry context.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and align procurement strategies accordingly, considering the unique requirements of a chemical manufacturing setting.
- Drive cost savings and process efficiencies through effective negotiation, supplier management, and contract optimization, with a focus on chemical-related supplies and services.
- Foster strategic supplier relationships to ensure reliable and high-quality supply chain performance in the chemical manufacturing domain.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth in a chemical manufacturing context.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in indirect procurement, ideally within the chemical manufacturing industry, with a focus on capex and other indirect commodities.
- Demonstrated success in establishing and leading a procurement function from the ground up, preferably within a chemical manufacturing organization.
- Strong negotiation skills and a track record of achieving cost savings and process efficiencies in chemical-related procurement.
- Exceptional ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build effective supplier relationships, understanding the nuances of the chemical manufacturing sector.
- Familiarity with relevant procurement tools and technologies specific to chemical manufacturing.
