Global Direct Procurement Manager - API's & Excipients
Location: Near London (Hybrid)
Our client is a fast growing pharmaceutical company with a strong global presence, and is looking for a highly skilled Global Direct Procurement Manager to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing API's and Excipients, and working closely with Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality raw materials for our manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for API's and Excipients, ensuring that all materials are sourced at the best possible price, quality, and service level.
- Collaborate with CMOs to manage the procurement process, including the negotiation of contracts, supplier performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and CMOs, ensuring that our business needs are fully understood and met.
- Manage supplier and CMO risk, ensuring continuity of supply and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and industry developments, and adjust sourcing strategies as needed to meet changing business needs.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams, to ensure that procurement strategies align with overall business objectives.
- Implement and maintain procurement systems and processes to ensure efficient procurement operations and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as supply chain management, business, or engineering. Advanced degree preferred.
- At least 4 years of experience in direct procurement, with a focus on API's and Excipients sourcing in a pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Experience in managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier risk.
- Proven ability to develop and execute effective procurement strategies, including cost savings initiatives.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Experience with procurement systems and tools.
