Responsibilities
- Oversees the distribution process to assure superior customer satisfaction while controlling and minimizing operational costs
- Leads the warehouse and distribution operations by developing and implementing the right strategies and tactics to deliver world-class performance
- Oversees the distribution strategy in support of achieving target customer service levels with a minimum investment in inventories and at the lowest possible cost.
- Directs all distribution and logistics activities including managing labor costs and productivity, inventory levels and accuracy, and stocking strategies.
- Responsible for providing strategic oversight and leadership for transportation
- Provides strategic management related to the development of transportation systems, metrics, and personnel
- Monitors routing guide adherence, the cost performance of delivery operations throughout the organization. This would include but not limited to routing efficiency, freight performance, and customer satisfaction
- Plans develop and execute all outbound & inbound delivery programs to meet business objectives
- Resolves shipment conflicts through the engagement of partners to deliver world-class customer service
- Prepares for and conduct monthly Operational Review meetings with leadership, providing analysis of transportation and distribution performance, inventory positions, and future supply chain or distribution plans
- Manages carrier network, facilitate freight sourcing events, and manages carrier/3PL performance
- Negotiates and manages contracts and service level agreements with third-party vendors and/or service providers
- Supports customer efforts to improve the entire supply chain through improvement discussions and initiatives
- In coordination with Finance, oversee a freight P&L to ensure profitability across customers and lanes
